Frequently Asked Questions
Bridal alterations can feel overwhelming at first. This page is here to gently guide you through the most common questions, so you can feel informed, supported, and confident as you prepare for your fittings.

FAQ's
When should I schedule my bridal alterations?
Most brides begin alterations about 12 weeks before the wedding date. This allows enough time for fittings, adjustments, and final refinements without feeling rushed. Some gowns or timelines may require additional planning, which can be discussed during your consultation.
How far in advance should I schedule my first fitting?
My bridal alteration calendar fills quickly, especially during peak wedding season. Booking as soon as your gown arrives is strongly encouraged to secure your preferred timeframe.
How long does each appointment take?
Initial bridal consultations are generally scheduled for 45–60 minutes, while additional fittings typically last 30–45 minutes, depending on the gown and the alterations being performed.
What is the average cost of bridal gown alterations?
Bridal alterations vary widely depending on the gown’s construction, fabric, and the level of work required to achieve the desired fit and finish. Most brides can expect alterations to fall within the range of $400–$800, though more detailed gowns or extensive modifications may exceed this range. Rather than pricing individual adjustments, alterations are assessed as a whole. Factors such as lace or beading, multiple layers, structural elements (like boning or corsetry), and overall complexity all influence the final investment. During your consultation, your gown will be evaluated in person and a total investment will be provided before any work begins, so you can move forward with complete clarity and confidence. Every gown is unique, and the goal of alterations is not just fit, but ensuring your dress looks and feels exactly as it should for your wedding day.
Will I know the cost of my bridal gown alterations ahead of time?
Yes. During your consultation, we’ll review the recommended alterations for your gown and discuss the package that best fits your needs and budget. You’ll receive a clear estimate at that time, allowing you to make informed decisions with no surprises along the way.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. To reserve your place on my alteration schedule, a $50 non-refundable deposit is collected at your consultation. This amount is credited toward your final balance, with the remaining balance due at your final fitting or pickup.
Do you offer rush bridal gown alterations?
If your timeline is shorter than expected, rush bridal alterations may be possible depending on availability and the work required. Rush services are subject to an additional fee and are not always guaranteed. I’m always happy to talk through your timeline and see what options may be available.
